6:30AM: Rise and shine! Your pup starts their day with a morning walk around our spacious and secure outdoor play area. They stretch their legs, sniff the fresh air, and enjoy the sights and sounds of nature.

Breakfast time! Your dog enjoys a nutritious meal provided by the owner, tailored to their dietary needs and preferences. Our caregivers ensure that each dog receives the proper portion size and any necessary supplements or medications.

Playtime begins! Your pup joins their furry friends in our supervised playgroups, where they romp, wrestle, and chase to their heart’s content. Our caregivers closely monitor play sessions to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all dogs.

12:00 PM: Lunch break! For dogs staying for a full day of boarding, we provide a midday meal to keep them energized and satisfied. Afterward, your pup has some downtime to relax and digest before afternoon activities.

Back to play! Your dog reunites with their pals for more games and socialization. Our play areas are equipped with toys, agility equipment, and plenty of space to run and explore.

Nap time! Dogs who need a break from the excitement of playtime can retreat to their cozy sleeping quarters for a restful nap. Our caregivers provide comfortable bedding and soothing background music to help dogs relax and unwind.

5:00 PM: Dinner is served! Your pup enjoys another delicious meal prepared by The Howlin’ Hive. We make sure they receive the proper nutrition to fuel their active lifestyle and promote overall health.

Evening activities begin! Whether it’s a leisurely stroll around our outdoor play area, a game of tug-of-war with a favorite toy, or some quiet cuddle time with a caregiver, your dog has plenty of options for evening entertainment.

Bedtime! As the day comes to a close, your pup settles down in their private sleeping area for a restful night’s sleep. Our caregivers tuck them in with a cozy blanket and provide any bedtime snacks or medications as needed.

Assessment & Requirements

Assessment Process

  • When you bring your dog in for their assessment, our trained staff members will greet you and your pup with a warm welcome.
  • We’ll start by introducing your dog to different areas of our facility, including play areas, quiet spaces, and sleeping quarters.
  • During the assessment, we’ll observe your dog’s behavior and reactions to various stimuli, such as other dogs, people, and new environments.
  • We may introduce your dog to a few select playmates to gauge their socialization skills and comfort level with other dogs.
  • Based on the assessment results, we’ll determine which run color group (green, yellow, or red) is most suitable for your dog’s needs and
    temperament.

Run Color Groups

  • Green Group: Dogs in this group are approved to play in our main pack with no restrictions. They demonstrate confident and appropriate social behavior and enjoy interacting with other dogs in a group setting.
  • Yellow Group: Dogs in this group may have some limitations on their play, such as limited numbers of playmates or select friends they can interact
with. This group is ideal for dogs who may be more selective about their playmates or need a bit of extra supervision.
  • Red Group: Dogs in this group require more individualized attention and must be supervised closely by a staff member during playtime. This group is suitable for dogs who may be anxious, reactive, or have special needs that require extra support. Dogs in this group will be charged an additional
    $15 / day.

Importance of Crate Training

  • Crate training is essential for dogs who will be boarding overnight at our facility. Crates provide a safe and secure space for dogs to rest and relax, mimicking the den-like environment that dogs naturally seek out.
  • Dogs who are crate trained are more comfortable and less anxious when confined to a crate, making the boarding experience less stressful for them.
  • Crates also help us manage the overnight boarding environment more effectively, ensuring the safety and well-being of all dogs in our care.
  • We recommend crate training for all dogs, regardless of whether they will be boarding overnight or not. It’s a valuable skill that can benefit dogs in various situations, such as traveling, veterinary visits, and emergencies.

By conducting assessments and assigning dogs to appropriate run color groups, as well as emphasizing the importance of crate training for overnight boarding, we ensure that every dog has a positive and tailored experience at our facility.

FAQ

A. Here’s a brief checklist for pet parents to ensure their dog’s comfort during a boarding stay at a facility:

Food: Provide enough food for the duration of the stay, plus a little extra in case of delays. Pack it in sealed containers or pre-portioned bags for easy feeding.

Medication: If your dog requires medication, ensure you provide enough for the entire stay along with clear instructions for administration.

Comfort items: Bring your dog’s favorite blanket, toy, or bedding to provide a sense of familiarity and comfort in the new environment.

Instructions: Write down any specific care instructions or routines your dog follows, such as feeding schedules, exercise needs, or behavioral quirks, to help the staff provide personalized care.

Treats: Include some of your dog’s favorite treats to reward good behavior and
provide comfort during their stay.

By preparing these essentials, you can help ensure your dog has a safe, comfortable, and enjoyable boarding experience.

A: As a pet parent, it’s natural to have concerns about your furry friend’s safety while in someone else’s care. At our facility, the well-being of every pet entrusted to us is our top priority. In the unlikely event that your pet sustains an injury while under our supervision, our trained staff members are prepared to respond promptly and appropriately. We have established protocols in place to handle emergencies, including access to veterinary care if needed. Rest assured, we take every precaution to minimize risks and ensure a safe environment for all pets in our care. Additionally, we maintain open communication with pet parents, promptly notifying them of any incidents and keeping them informed throughout the process. Your trust is invaluable to us, and we are committed to providing the highest standard of care for your companion.

A: We do not provide after hours supervision for the dogs boarding in our facility. All dogs are tucked in for the night and the facility is locked and alarmed. They are monitored through the night using cameras that pick up any motion or excessive noise and alert management. There is someone who lives on site that can assist in case of emergency.

A. We understand that you may want to stay connected with your furry friend during their boarding stay. Rest assured, we prioritize communication with all pet parents and are more than happy to provide updates upon request, including photos of your dog enjoying their time with us. Whether you’re curious about their activities, appetite, or simply want reassurance that they’re doing well, we’re here to keep you informed every step of the way. Additionally, for a small additional fee of $5 per day, we offer the option to send your dog home with a daily report card detailing their daily activities, behavior, and any notable observations. Your peace of mind is important to us, and we strive to make your dog’s boarding experience as transparent and enjoyable as possible.

A: We provide all the bowls, slowfeeders and lick mats your dog will need during their stay with us. If your dog needs a special bowl for any reason, we are happy to accommodate. Please check with staff before providing a bowl for your dog.

A: Yes! We have two kennel size options. Our single kennels can accommodate two dogs up to 100lbs comfortably. If you are looking for your dogs to have more room for their stay, our double kennels are twice as large and can fit two XXL size dogs comfortably with lots of room to walk around.

A: We ask all pet parents to book their dogs boarding stays as far in advance as possible. We understand last minute requests may happen, and we always do our best to accommodate, but we cannot guarantee there will be space for your dog, especially if you are looking to book in our peak season dates.
